DUAL SPECIALTY STORE™

DAL (Lentil) Recipe

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ingredients Required

 1 Whole tomato
1 Whole onion
Ginger & Garlic paste or fresh 2 tsp of each coarsely chopped.
1/2 cup of Ghee/Olive oil
4 Green Cardamom
2-4 fresh Curry leaf or 3 Bay leaf
4 Cloves
2 Cinnamon sticks
½ tsp Dual's special Garam masala
½ tsp Coriander powder
½ tsp Cumin seed
½tsp kalonji seed (onion seed)
½ tsp Turmeric powder
Salt (optional)
4-6 fresh green chili or
½ tbs chili powder (optional)
1 (8-oz cup) of Dal
6 cups of water more or less

STEPS OF COOKING

1st

1 Whole tomato, 1 Whole onion, Ginger & Garlic paste or fresh 2 tsp of each

coarsely chopped. 1/2 cup of Ghee/Olive oil, stir and fry until well blended.

2nd

Add to the 1st mixture, 4 Green Cardamom, 2-4 fresh Curry leaf or 3 Bay leaf, 4 Clove,

2 Cinnamon stick, ½ tsp Dual's special Garam masala, ½ tsp Coriander powder, ½ tsp Cumin seed, ½tsp kalonji seed (onion seed), ½ tsp Turmeric powder, salt (optional) 4-6 fresh green chili or ½ tbs chili powder (optional) fry for few minutes.

3rd

Add to the 2nd mixture. Add 1 (8-oz cup) of dal and 6 cups of water more or less. Boil on low heat until the Dal is tender and soup style. (About 20-25 minutes).

Serving Suggestion: Fresh Green cilantro & green onion. “2-4 Persons’’
